The Ministry of Labour and the Public Service has committed to rolling out major reforms to strengthen and modernize labour laws in The Bahamas. This includes working with unions, employers' confederations, and government stakeholders on changes to the Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, Public Service Act, and General Orders.

The first draft of our White Paper on Labour Reforms includes recommendations for exciting new policies on paternity leave, remote work, and mental health leave, among other significant changes.

Our goal is to create a 21st century framework to empower and protect workers so they can do their best work.
