Today, I met with Dr. Sidney A. McPhee and Dr. Cheryl Cardell. I am so pleased to welcome MTSU's continued partnership with The Bahamas, from supporting the University of The Bahamas' journey toward accreditation to our newly signed agreement on aviation development. This collaboration reflects the strength of the U.S.-Bahamas relationship in education and innovation. -HW

| Keeping Our Mission Connected 📬📦

Meet Mark Ritchie, our Senior Diplomatic Post Office (DPO) Supervisor, who has dedicated an incredible 34 years to serving the U.S. Government.

Mark manages secure diplomatic mail and postal logistics for U.S. personnel assigned to our overseas mission. While the work may happen behind the scenes, its impact is felt throughout our diplomatic community. DPO services serve as a critical lifeline, helping maintain connections to home while supporting workforce morale, quality of life, and overall well-being.

For Mark, the most rewarding part of the job is seeing the impact those connections have on his colleagues.
“There is nothing quite like the joy of watching a colleague pick up a highly anticipated package or delivery during a busy workday. It is incredibly rewarding to know that our daily mail operations bring a smile to our colleagues’ faces, boost morale, and make their time living and working in a host country feel a little more comfortable.”
After 34 years of service, Mark continues to take pride in knowing that every package delivered and every piece of mail processed helps bring a little piece of home to our colleagues abroad.

Join us in celebrating Mark and the dedication he brings to our mission every day!

🌀 Hurricane Season Is Here — Are You Ready?

The 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season runs through November 30, and NOAA predicts 8–14 named storms, 3–6 hurricanes, and 1–3 major hurricanes this year. It only takes one storm to change everything - the time to prepare is now.

Congratulations to U.S. and Bahamian Law Enforcement for teaming up to fight cross-border crime! Drug Enforcement Administration - DEA, Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and Royal Bahamas Defence Force coordinated the search and seizure at the Miami River of two cargo ships tracked through the Bahamas during the week of August 17, 2026. Members of RBPF’s DEU actively participated in the search and seizure operation, resulting in the arrests of a Mexican and a Venezuelan national, tied to transnational organized crime. Well done team!
