In recognition of World Su***de Prevention Day, the Ministry of Health & Wellness, Department of Public Health, Mental Health Programming Unit, and Bahamas Psychological Association invite you to join us for a Candlelight Vigil.

📅 Thursday, 10th September, 2026
🕖 7:00 p.m.
📍 Rawson Square
🟠 Please wear orange

We will gather to remember those we have lost to su***de, support the people who continue to carry their memory, and stand with those who may be struggling to find a way forward.

Each candle is a reminder that every life matters.

Let’s come together as a community, because no one should have to carry grief or struggle alone.

☀️ This Emancipation Day, don’t just celebrate; emancipate yourself from the holiday heat! 🥤💦

As you head to the beach, family gatherings, regattas, festivals, and other holiday events this long weekend, remember that high temperatures can quickly lead to dehydration and heat-related illness.

Stay safe by:
💧 Drinking plenty of water throughout the day.
🧢 Wearing light, loose-fitting clothing and a hat.
🌳 Taking breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
🍉 Eating water-rich fruits and avoiding too much alcohol in the sun.
👶👵 Checking in on children, older adults, and anyone with chronic medical conditions, as they’re more vulnerable to the heat.

Let’s enjoy the holiday responsibly and look out for one another.

Celebrate the freedom. Escape the heat. Stay hydrated. Stay healthy.➕💙

Today is World Hepatitis Day, a reminder that hepatitis is inflammation of the liver, most commonly caused by a viral infection. Left untreated, it can lead to serious liver damage, liver cancer, and even death. The challenge is that many people with hepatitis have no symptoms for years and don’t know they’re infected.

The good news? Hepatitis is preventable, treatable, and in some cases, curable.

💉 Get vaccinated against hepatitis A and B.
🩺 Know your risk and get tested.
❤️ Practice healthy habits to reduce your risk.
👨‍⚕️ Seek medical care if you think you’ve been exposed.

Together, we can raise awareness, reduce stigma, and work toward eliminating hepatitis as a public health threat.

Protect your liver. Protect your health.
