OFFICIAL CONGRATULATORY NOTE

On behalf of the Office of the Honorary Consul of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, and especially on behalf of all Vincentians who live, work, and contribute meaningfully to these beautiful Bahamian islands, we extend heartfelt congratulations to the Honourable Dr. Godwin Friday and the newly elected members of the New Democratic Party on their mandate to form the next Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

We offer our support as you assume this honorable responsibility, ever mindful that governance is first and foremost about the people - each citizen whose hopes, work, and faith shape the national story in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. May this new chapter inspire us all to put our hands to the plough without looking back, pressing steadfastly toward the mark of the higher calling in Christ Jesus, with humility, wisdom, and a sincere commitment to the common good.

Permit me, to also express profound gratitude to the former administration and to the immediate past Prime Minister, the Honourable Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, for the many positive contributions rendered over their years of dedicated service. This moment must not be viewed as a failure but embraced as an opportunity—a renewed beginning in the ongoing journey of nation-building.

It is my hope that this transition of leadership reminds us that the true strength of St. Vincent and the Grenadines resides in its people, whose voices, well-being, and dignity must always remain at the centre of national progress.

And let us never forget that genuine service to God’s people is sacred work, for it was indeed said, “If you have done it unto the least of these, you have done it unto Me.”

Almighty and Eternal God, we thank You for the gift of democracy and the privilege to choose our leaders. As St. Vincent and the Grenadines prepares for its General Elections on November 27, we humbly ask for Your divine guidance over the entire process.

Grant wisdom, integrity, and fairness to all who participate — voters, candidates, and officials alike. Still every spirit of division, dishonesty, and fear, and let truth, peace, and justice prevail. Protect our nation from harm and confusion, and bless us with a smooth, safe, and honest election.

May the outcome reflect Your perfect will and lead our beloved nation toward unity, prosperity, and continued progress, through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.

Message of Solidarity from the Honorary Consul of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

The Consulate of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas extends heartfelt solidarity and unwavering support to the Government and people of Jamaica as they courageously face the passage of Hurricane Melissa.

We recognize the immense strength, resilience, and unity that have long characterized the Jamaican spirit. In this moment of uncertainty and challenge, we stand with our Caribbean brothers and sisters in prayer and compassion. The shared bonds of history, culture, and regional fraternity remind us that the Caribbean is one family—bound together not only by geography but by enduring mutual care.

On behalf of the Government and people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, I assure the Jamaican people of our continued prayers for safety, and swift recovery. May God’s protection rest upon the nation, guiding all efforts toward preservation of life, restoration, and peace in the days ahead.

The Rev. Dr. Kari Marcelle, Honorary Consul of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, attended the official opening ceremony of the 15th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA), held in the Crown Ballroom at Government House, Mount Fitzwilliam, on Thursday, 26 June 2025, at 6:00 p.m.

During the event, Dr. Marcelle engaged in conversation with the Honourable Carlson James, Minister of Tourism for St. Vincent and the Grenadines, who represented Dr. the Honourable Ralph E. Gonsalves, outgoing Chairman of CDEMA.

St. John’s College proudly joined schools worldwide in celebrating Commonwealth Day 2025 under the theme “Together We Thrive.”

As part of the festivities, each class in the primary department selected a Commonwealth member state to represent. Grade 6 Bernard, under the guidance of their teacher, Ms. Allison Bernard, chose St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Students embraced the country’s culture by dressing in the colors of its national flag, while an informational display board outside the classroom highlighted key facts about the nation. Additionally, a classroom exhibit featuring local produce provided students with an immersive experience. This initiative offered students a valuable educational opportunity, broadening their global perspective and fostering cultural appreciation.

A special thank you to the Honorary Consul of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, The Rev. Dr. Kari Marcelle, for generously providing the flag, informational materials, and items showcased in the display.

The Honorary Consul of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas hosted a post-celebration event in commemoration of the 45th Anniversary of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, under the theme “Sharing the Gems with Paradise.” This event took place at 12:00 noon on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at St. John’s College Auditorium, with Grade 6 and Grade 12 students in attendance. The guest speaker, Vincention native Mrs. Kandis Marcelle 'nee' Cato, shared insights into life in SVG, reflecting on her experiences growing up and living there. Additionally, an expo table was set up, allowing students to explore the creativity and local products of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
