In observance of Earth Day, the Ethan S. Bain Environmental Health Foundation gave finalists in an environmental speech competition a powerful, firsthand look at modern waste management in action ๐โป๏ธ
From exploring a 300-acre facility that has transformed its sustainability practices since 2018, to learning how waste is managed, repurposed, and reduced, students were exposed to real solutions shaping a cleaner, healthier Bahamas. Highlights of the tour included material re-purposing for road paving, safe separation of electronic waste, fire risk reduction, groundwater monitoring, and organic composting.
As the Foundation continues its mission to promote environmental awareness and public health, this experience served as a meaningful reminder that protecting our environment starts with each of us through the choices we make every day.
