Even while fighting for fair wages, better working conditions, and the dignity that every worker deserves, you continue to show up day after day. Not only because of the obligations waiting at home, the bills, the responsibilities, and the families who depend on you, but because of your commitment to the work you do and the people you serve.

When others left, you stayed. When challenges arose, you endured. Through long hours, difficult circumstances, and sacrifices often unseen, you remained steadfast in your duty to country and community.

To our nurses, teachers, sanitation workers, janitresses, construction workers, public servants, first responders, and every hardworking Bahamian across our islands, thank you.

Thank you for your service. Thank you for your resilience. Thank you for the role you play in keeping our nation moving forward every single day.

Unity is all we have left. A kingdom divided cannot and will not stand. Let us continue to work together, support one another, and build a stronger, fairer, and more prosperous Bahamas.

Happy Labour Day 2026.
We appreciate your services

This was our first election as a Party.

17.9k is not just a number — it is a message.

It is the voice of Bahamians who believe that our country deserves better. It is the sound of a people waking up, standing up, and refusing to accept politics as usual.

To every voter, supporter, volunteer, and believer in this movement: thank you. You have helped make history, but this is only the beginning. The road ahead will require courage, discipline, unity, and faith — but together, we will continue to build a Bahamas where the people come first.

The COI movement is rising because Bahamians are ready for real representation, real accountability, and real change.

This is our time.
This is our country.
And by God’s grace, we are just getting started.

Bahamians are waking up! 🇧🇸

Born out of the educational organization Bahamian Evolution, founded on September 16, 2020, the COI evolved from a grassroots activist movement into a formidable political entity by March 2021. In just a month, it organized a massive support base, and within six months, the COI made history by endorsing 35 candidates, with an impressive 53% being women. This diverse slate includes highly qualified professionals, some with master's degrees, who bring innovative and forward-thinking ideas to the table. On September 16, 2021, the first anniversary of Bahamian Evolution, the COI solidified its commitment to ushering in the 'New Bahamas' – a vision characterized by inclusive, transparent governance and a dedication to leveraging the nation's resources for the benefit of all Bahamians. The COI stands as a testament to the power of collective action and the pursuit of a more equitable and progressive future in Bahamian politics.". Join 276 followers for the latest updates.

Can Our Hospitals Handle an Ebola Crisis? The Question No One in Government Wants to answer.

The health and safety of the Bahamian people and our visitors must always come first.

Bahamians are rightfully concerned by reports that travelers from a region experiencing an active Ebola outbreak were permitted to enter The Bahamas while the Ministry of Health now speaks of surveillance and contact tracing. If these individuals merely landed and continued their journey, then the Ministry must clearly explain what exactly is being traced and what risk assessment was conducted before their arrival.

Only weeks ago, a cruise ship carrying passengers affected by Norovirus was denied disembarkation in Nassau out of concern for public health, however, it was alleged that some passengers were allowed to disembark. Bahamians therefore deserve to know why one situation resulted in immediate restrictions while another appears to have been handled differently.

Our healthcare system is already stretched beyond capacity. We continue to face challenges with resources, staffing, hospital capacity and access to care. The Bahamian people have every right to question whether we are adequately prepared to respond to a serious infectious disease outbreak should one occur.

This is not about fear. It is about preparedness, transparency and accountability. The government must provide clear answers, disclose the protocols that were followed, and reassure the public that every precaution has been taken to protect our nation. At this point, we would rather hear from the Permanent Secretary, legally and administratively, the Permanent Secretary can address the nation on a health matter if authorized by the government or ministry. There is no rule that prevents him from doing so. We need collaboration between the state and its people.

The Coalition of Independents stands with the people in demanding leadership that is proactive, not reactive. When it comes to public health, there is no room for confusion. The safety of the Bahamian people must always be the first priority.
