The first day of the Ura Matsutake Festival was a lively celebration of Ura’s rich culture, nature, and local traditions. The day featured cultural performances, traditional food, fresh matsutake mushrooms, and a variety of local products.

Locals, visitors, and guests came together to enjoy the festivities, experience the warm hospitality of Ura, and celebrate the importance of matsutake to the local community and livelihoods.

It was a wonderful beginning to the Ura Matsutake Festival 2026, bringing together culture, nature, food, and community in the beautiful valley of Ura.

On August 13, 2026, Bumthang Dzongkhag hosted the Hon’ble Minister of Industry, Commerce and Employment (MoICE) alongside directors and officials from key government departments and the Office of Cabinet Affairs and Strategic Coordination for a consultation on business regulatory reform. The meeting brought together Dzongkhag officials, Local Government members, and the local business community to assess the regulatory landscape, address operational challenges, and identify opportunities to streamline administrative procedures. Ultimately, the visit aimed to deepen stakeholder collaboration and foster a more efficient, transparent, predictable, and supportive environment to drive private sector growth and sustainable economic development.
