The Hon’ble Chairperson, Commissioner, and officials from the Anti-Corruption Commission conducted a session on Anti-Corruption Initiatives for the officials of the Pemagatshel Dzongkhag Administration. The session was attended by Dasho Dzongdag, LG members, sector heads, and officials from various agencies.

The programme served as an important platform to strengthen awareness on ethical values, transparency, and good governance. During the session, the Commission shared insights on the national corruption scenario and highlighted the importance of the ACC’s Three-Pronged Strategy: Investigation, Prevention, and Public Education.

The session was highly interactive and informative, with participants actively engaging in discussions and sharing their views and experiences. The programme concluded with an engaging Q&A session, reaffirming the collective commitment towards promoting integrity, accountability, and a Happy, Harmonious, and Corruption-Free Society.

Capacity Building Training on Education Sector Disaster Management and Contingency Planning PemaGatshel Dzongkhag | 29 – 31 May 2026

The Dzongkhag Education Office, PemaGatshel, is conducting a three-day Capacity Building Training for Disaster Focal Teachers and Principals from schools across the Dzongkhag. The training encompasses key thematic areas including the Education Disaster Management and Contingency Plan (DMCP), Hazard, Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (HVCA), evacuation mapping, standardized emergency drill procedures, First Aid conducted by health professionals from the Dzongkhag Hospital, fire safety theory and practical sessions facilitated by the Royal Bhutan Police, and the development of SMART Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and School Disaster Management Plans (SDMPs). The training was graced by Dasho Dzongdag, delivering key remarks on disaster preparedness, risk reduction, and the importance of proactive leadership in emergency response, emphasizing that a culture of preparedness must extend beyond the school and begin within every household. The Dzongkhag Disaster Management Officer also delivered a presentation on Disaster SOPs and contingency measures, underscoring the roles and responsibilities of schools during emergencies and encouraging all participants to champion awareness and resilience within their respective school communities.

A one-day capacity building workshop on Google Workspace, Bhutan National Digital Identity (NDI), Cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Awareness was successfully conducted by GovTech Agency for officials and staff of Pemagatshel Dzongkhag and regional offices. The programme was attended by 53 participants.

The workshop focused on:
Google Workspace – enhancing official communication, collaboration, and digital records management.

Bhutan NDI Integration – promoting secure and efficient use of the National Digital Identity system for service delivery.

Cybersecurity & AI Awareness – strengthening awareness on data protection and responsible use of emerging AI technologies.

The session proved highly beneficial in improving digital skills and supporting day-to-day office operations and service delivery.
