Honouring Our Dedicated Outgoing Staff

Today, we extend our heartfelt appreciation and best wishes to two valued members of our organization as they conclude their distinguished service.

Mr. Kezang Chophel, Driver, is proceeding on superannuation after an impressive 33 years of dedicated service. His commitment, reliability, and years of service have been greatly valued and appreciated.

Mr. Dil Bdr. Ghalley, AE, is leaving through voluntary resignation after 21 years of dedicated service. We sincerely thank him for his valuable contributions, commitment, and service to the organization.

As they embark on the next chapter of their lives, we wish both of them good health, happiness, and continued success in all their future endeavours.

Audit Entry Meeting Note

An Audit Entry Meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dasho Dzongdag with the presence of Dasho Dzongrab, Drungpas, Sector Heads, Gups, and Accountants. The meeting was convened to formally commence the audit and provide an overview of the audit objectives, scope, methodology, and timelines.

During the meeting, the audit team briefed the participants on the areas to be covered and emphasized the importance of providing accurate records, timely information, and full cooperation throughout the audit process. Dasho Dzongdag welcomed the audit team and directed all sectors and Gewogs to extend necessary support and ensure prompt submission of documents and clarifications required during the audit.

The meeting concluded with a commitment from all concerned officials to facilitate the audit process and address any issues raised in a timely and transparent manner. We extend our warm welcome and best wishes to the Audit Team for a successful audit engagement.

The 10th Dzongkhag Tshogdu Session of Samtse Dzongkhag, Third Local Government, was held on 17 August 2026, corresponding to the 5th day of the 7th month of the Fire Male Horse Year in the Bhutanese calendar. The session commenced with the traditional Zhudgdrel Phuensum Tshogpa ceremony.

The session was chaired by Thrizin, with the Honโ€™ble National Council Member, Dasho Dzongda, and Dasho Dzongrab attending as observers. The session endorsed the FY 2026โ€“2027 budget and deliberated on key local governance and development matters. It concluded with long-life prayers for His Majesty The Druk Gyalpo and prayers for the continued peace, prosperity, and well-being of the Tsa-Wa-Sum

Welcome to the Samtse Dzongkhag Family!

Samtse Dzongkhag warmly welcomes all the newly recruited Teachers, Laboratory Assistants, and Matron who have joined the Dzongkhag and have been placed in various schools across the Dzongkhag.

Today, the newly appointed staff participated in a one-day orientation programme by Education sector and HR office, providing them with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Dzongkhag, HR& Education policies, understand their roles and responsibilities, and prepare for their new journey of serving our schools, students, and communities.

We would also like to extend a special welcome Principal of Tendruk Higher Secondary School who have joined on transfer from Dungtse CS,Trashigang Dzongkhag. We look forward to your leadership, dedication, and valuable contribution towards strengthening the school and supporting the holistic development of our students.

Heartfelt congratulations and a very warm welcome to everyone! We wish all our new members a fulfilling, successful, and meaningful journey in serving the students and communities of Samtse Dzongkhag.

Consultation Meeting on the Marriage Act (Amendment) Bill 2026

A consultation meeting on the Marriage Act (Amendment) Bill 2026 was held today at the DT Hall, Samtse, with the Natural Resources and Environment Committee of the National Council of Bhutan.

The meeting was attended by the Dzongdag, Drangpoen, Thrizin of the Dzongkhag Tshogdu (DT), representatives from the Royal Bhutan Police (RBP), sector heads, Local Government (LG) Leaders and and a representative from RENEW.

The meeting provided an important platform for stakeholders to deliberate on the proposed amendments, share perspectives, and provide valuable recommendations and inputs towards strengthening the Marriage Act.

The consultation reflected the importance of engaging relevant stakeholders at the local level in the legislative process and ensuring that diverse views are considered in the proposed amendments.

Honโ€™ble Minister of MoICE Visits Samtse Dzongkhag

Samtse Dzongkhag had the honour of welcoming the Honโ€™ble Minister of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment (MoICE) during the Ministerโ€™s official visit to Samtse today on 3 August 2026.

The visit provided an important platform for engaging with Dzongkhag Tshogdue members, Dzongkhag officials and members of the business community to discuss the existing business regulatory environment, challenges faced by businesses, and opportunities to simplify regulatory processes.

The consultation also focused on strengthening coordination among relevant stakeholders and creating a more efficient, transparent, predictable and enabling environment for private sector growth and economic development.

The Dzongkhag Administration sincerely appreciates the Honโ€™ble Minister and the delegation from MoICE for the visit and for the opportunity to listen to the concerns and aspirations of our local business community.
