𝟔 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲: 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐠 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬
On the auspicious 19th day of the 2nd month of the Fire Male Horse Year, corresponding to 6 April 2026, the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Bhutan appointed seven Dungkhag Drangpons:
1. Langa Tenzin as the Wamrong Dungkhag Drangpon;
2. Pema Tashi Pelden as the Drangpon Rabjam, Enforcement Unit, Thimphu Dzongkhag Court;
3. Dechen Tshomo Dorji as Drangpon Rabjam, Supreme Court of Bhutan;
4. Tshering Dorji as the Samdrupcholing Dungkhag Drangpon;
5. Jigme Singye as Drangpon Rabjam, Supreme Court of Bhutan;
6. Tshering D**o Wangmo as the Lhamoizingkha Dungkhag Drangpon; and
7. Tashi Dorji as Phuentsholing Dungkhag Drangpon.
The newly appointed Dungkhag Drangpons took the Oath of Office and Oath of Secrecy, administered by the Registrar General of the Supreme Court, in a solemn ceremony held at the Supreme Court. The ceremony marked their formal assumption of judicial responsibilities, signifying their pledge to uphold the Constitution, dispense justice with integrity and fairness, and serve the sacred interests of the Nation and the People.
The seven appointees are all very young, bright, and capable judicial professionals who have served as Court Registrars of various Royal Courts of Justice over the years, and have also undertaken additional responsibilities as Acting Drangpons the past year. The Judiciary would like to congratulate them on the well-deserved recognition and wish them the best as they assume their new positions, and continue their service to the 𝘛𝘴𝘢 𝘸𝘢 𝘴𝘶𝘮.
