Druk Thuendrel Tshogpa notes with concern that several pressing issues of national importance have required stronger action from the Opposition Party in recent times. Unfortunately, the Opposition has often remained a silent observer rather than taking an active stand on matters that directly affect public welfare.

Although Druk Thuendrel Tshogpa does not currently have representation in Parliament, the Party has consistently raised the voice of the people through other forums, particularly social media. Our Interim President, Dr. Chenga Tshering, has been vocal on critical national issues, including the recent Nu. 2.5 million monetized quota for Members of Parliament and National Council members. He has also repeatedly called for accountability from both the Opposition Party and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The Party welcomes the Opposition’s recent decision to heed the voices of the people on the alleged ESP corruption case and take up these concerns. Druk Thuendrel Tshogpa remains hopeful that a fair and unbiased investigation will be undertaken and that the findings will be made available to the public in the interest of transparency.

At the same time, the Party urges the Opposition to clarify its position on the monetized vehicle quota. Such clarification is critical to demonstrate impartiality and to strengthen public confidence in the Opposition’s role as a responsible guardian of the people’s trust.
