Department of Tourism, Bhutan Official page of the Department of Tourism. National Tourism office of the Kingdom of Bhutan. Welcome to Bhutan 🇧🇹 Welcome to Bhutan.

In a world that is always on, Bhutan offers sanctuary. It offers earthly pleasures: archery and age-old crafts, dishes of homemade cheese and fearsomely hot chili, breathtaking treks and restorative hot stone baths. But there's another Bhutan, too, that's hinted at by the prayer flags strung across gorges and fluttering on every hillside. It's where irreverent humour meets deeply held beliefs, and

epic landscapes and slow journeys create room for quiet awe. It offers wellbeing and wonder, and exhilarating adventure. More than 70% forested, and one of a handful of carbon neutral countries in the world, it's also planting the seeds of science and tech innovation. There isn't just one Bhutan to discover; there are many. From storied cities to soaring mountains, the door to the kingdom is open once again to old and new friends.

Join us at the Global Conscious Food Systems Summit in Bhutan.

This film is an invitation to reimagine food systems through the values, relationships, and awareness that shape them. Featuring reflections from Satish Kumar, narrated by Lerato Sokhulu, and shaped by voices from across the CoFSA community, it calls for transformation from within and regeneration at every level.

A Bhutanese tourist guide is more than someone who leads the way, they are the face, voice, and spirit of Bhutan for every visitor who comes to our country.

They are storytellers, cultural interpreters, caretakers, and problem-solvers all at once. From sharing the history of sacred monasteries to ensuring the safety and comfort of guests on long journeys, guides carry the responsibility of shaping how Bhutan is experienced and remembered.

Behind every seamless travel experience are long days, changing weather, time away from family, and constant readiness to handle the unexpected. Yet, through it all, guides continue to serve with patience, warmth, and dedication.

Often, they are the first Bhutanese a visitor connects with and the ones they remember long after they leave. In many ways, guides carry Bhutan’s culture, values, and reputation in everything they do.

Tourist guides are not just part of the tourism system; they are at its heart, quietly ensuring that every journey in Bhutan becomes meaningful, safe, and memorable.
