All the exporters/traders are requested to avail inspection services and obtain Phytosanitary Certificate (PSC) for plants and plant products from the nearest respective BFDA offices. Further, you may also avail services from BFDA Gedu office before proceeding to Phuentsholing.
Seeking your kind cooperation and support to adhere with this arrangement for now as we have logistics issues in providing inspection services from BFDA Phuentsholing.

Dr Kinley Penjor from Bhutan Agriculture & Food Regulatory Authority (BAFRA) and Dr Sangay Rinchen from Department of Livestock (DoL) will be on BBS Live after the 8:00 PM news to discuss on the ongoing African Swine Fever (ASF) outbreaks containment in Gelephu & Samdrup Jongkhar.

Further, the panelist will advice on measures on how better and together we can prevent ASF introduction, establishment and spread at the pig farms and in the country.

Seasonal Inspection and Phytosanitary Certification (PSC)of Matsutake Mushroom-2022

During the current Matsutake export season, BAFRA provided inspection and PSC certification services span over four months (July 2022 to mid-October 2022). BAFRA office, Thimphu Dzongkhag was actively engaged in the inspection process which is usually carried out during the night. A total of about 4.0 MT of Tricholoma matsutake mushroom has been inspected and certified destined to international markets in Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Nepal and India. M/S Ugyen Export, Thimphu topped the export with about 3.6 MT. Inspection services was availed by four exporters during the entire season that ended on 10 Oct 2022

SEASONAL INSPECTION AND CERTIFICATION OF AGRICULTURE PRODUCTS TO FACILITATE EXPORT-CHUZOM CONFLUENCE

The Bhutan Agriculture and Food Regulatory Authority (BAFRA) provides inspection services for seasonal export of agricultural commodities from temporary inspection site set up at Chuzom. Since the beginning of export season from August 2022, the highest commodity certified is potato (about 614 MT) followed by apple (about 171) MT mostly exported to India.
