As the snow continues to accumulate, visibility diminishes, and the road surface becomes slippery, posing hazards for drivers navigating the route. ❄️🏔️☃️

In the early hours today, Punakha police apprehended four men aged 29 to 33 in Lampelri.
They were caught in a Bolero truck transporting stolen road crash barriers.
The suspects, identified as taxi driver, welder, and private workers, had travelled from Thimphu in the Bolero to commit the theft.

-The terrible road condition in some parts of Trongsa and Bumthang has made driving not only a pain but also risky.

-Buses and other vehicles take longer time than usual to reach their destination. It’s worse when it rains.

-There is a road stretch between Tshangkha and Trongsa that is particularly dangerous. Narrow, muddy and slippery, vehicles- small, medium and heavy, can be seen stuck in the mud along this stretch.

-The road is so bad that we often have to make the passengers get off to push the bus out of the mud,” said a bus driver.

-A bus operator, told they are risking their lives every day.

-Another bus operator, said. “We reach our destination very late because of the bad road,”

-“We also have to spend a lot on maintenance as the bad road is causing damage to our buses,” said another bus operator.

-Two public transport buses were damaged recently and are still lying by the roadside.

-I saw an uncountable off-road cars parked along the freshly widened highway. Everyone was helpless at this time.

FACT:
The continuous rainfall and heavy traffic during the widening time made it difficult to maintain the road condition.
