We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of two teachers of Denchukha Lower Secondary School and a Gewog caretaker, who were reportedly swept away by the swollen Amochu River this afternoon following the failure of a zipline.

During the question hour today in the National Assembly, the following questions were raised by the Opposition Members:

Member from Menbiโ€“Tshenkhar Constituency questioned the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment on Closure of ESP Education Loan Applications and Its Implications on Equitable Access to Higher Education Financing in Bhutan.

Member from Radhiโ€“Sakteng Constituency questioned the Ministry of Finance on credit lending rates in Bhutan.

Member from Khamdangโ€“Ramjar Constituency questioned the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Employment on underutilization of funds allocated for tourism development under the 13th Five-Year Plan.

Member from Drametseโ€“Ngatshang Constituency questioned the Minister for Finance on Actions Taken on the ACC Investigation of the Economic Stimulus Programme: Fund Recovery, Administrative Accountability, and Regulatory Reforms.

Supplementary questions on above matters were raised by the Leader of Opposition; Members from Mongar, Nanong-Shumar, and Thrimshing-Kangpara constituency.
