Bhutan Standards Bureau ‘To be the center of excellence in Standards, Metrology and Conformity Assessment services’ develop national standards and facilitate their implementation;

Mandate of the Bureau (As per Bhutan Standards Act 2010)

The Bureau has mandate to:

i. establish and operate metrological referral and calibration laboratories;
iii. establish and operate product testing infrastructure;
iv. carry out/operate product and management system certification schemes;
v. permit, coordinate and facilitate accreditation of laboratories and certification bodies;
vi. promot

e quality and standardization;
oversee the implementation of Regional and International Trade Agreement related to standards and Technical Barriers to Trade; and
vii carry out such other mandate related to standardization and quality control including monitoring as may be assigned by the Royal Government.
