ANTI-APARTHEID ACTIVIST RONNIE KASRILS OFFICIATES BNF ISRAEL APARTHEID WEEK

30th March 2022

Veteran South African political activist, former freedom fighter, and South African Communist Party stalwart, Ronald Ronnie Kasrils will be officiating at the Botswana National Front (BNF) Israel Apartheid Week commemorations on the 31st March 2022 at Cresta Lodge in Gaborone at 1800 under the theme “The Palestine Struggle for Freedom”. The former African National Congress (ANC) National Executive Committee member and Minister for Intelligence Services; and Water Affairs and Forestry in the ANC-led government is a fearless and prominent critic of the Israel occupation of Palestine.

The politically decorated activist has also written and edited several books including International Brigade Against Apartheid: Secrets of the People’s War That Liberated South Africa which he will be launching today, 30th March 2022 at Ave Maria Hotel and Conference Centre, at 1730hrs.

The Apartheid Week is commemorated annually and is held under strategic campaigns of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) to end the illegal and oppressive occupation of Palestine by Israel which has led to the loss of thousands of lives, destruction and illegal occupation of property and displacement of innocent citizens. The public is therefore invited to the event.

BNF Kweneng Regional Congress Resolution

On the 5th of March 2022 the Kweneng Regional Congress which is made up of delegates from eight (8) constituencies namely Molepolole North, Molepolole South, Gabane - Mankgodi, Thamaga - Kumakwane, Lentsweletau - Mmopane, Letlhakeng/Lephephe,Mogoditshane and Takatokwane constituencies resolved on the following :

1.That the Kweneng Region support and endorses Cde President Duma Gideon Boko to continue leading the BNF post the upcoming July congress and into year 2024 General Elections.

2. All the 8 constituencies are given a target to register 10 000 members each by December 2022 and Membership Drive Launches in those constituencies will be done by the BNF leader Cde Boko and his Central Committee.

3. All the 8 constituencies to have set up BNF constituency offices by March 2023.

4.The BNF central committee and the congress to consider splitting the Kweneng Region into two (2) regions.

5. The BNF Central Committee to consider having early primary elections if possible by the end of year 2022.

BNF is Alive and Well

At his press conference, a certain Bucs Molatlhegi who masquerades as a potential leader made a fatuous attack and cringing remarks that "The BNF is in ICU. We believe that such words undermine the unremitting members of the BNF who have given so much of themselves in their capacities to fight for this revolution.

We wonder who is this man who attacks an organization he claims he wants to lead. What is his true intent and mission, we ask. His attacks clearly come directly from a script penned by our adversaries both within the UDC of which we will lead till eternity and the BDP. It’s no wonder they praised and celebrated his attack on the BNF. We have decisively dealt with those adversaries here at The University of Botswana last year and we are going to do the same this year at the upcoming SRC elections.

We urge BNF members to be vigilant and guard profusely against sponsored characters and hired guns within the movement who are hell-bent on destabilizing us with an intention to give BDP a new lease on a corrupt life. Those who are close to this man should tell him that as youth we will never allow being led by very old people and worse who disrespect our party. The man's closeness to the BDP state through tenders is worried some. The President of the BNF should never be a beneficiary of the BDP corrupt tender system!

We note with disgrace, embittered and abashed by his words, and we urge him if he is an elder in the movement to own up and unconditionally apologize to it and its members.
We are the biggest opposition organization in this country and we have a duty to lead Batswana out of this misery they are subjected to on a daily basis. We loath his culture of buying comrades with money to stand in support of him to destroy our movement. We do not have such a culture in the BNF.

We further urge all our members to remain unshaken, BNF will never die, it is the party of the poor and marginalized and it has the power and capacity to self-correct.

President Duma Boko remains the only real threat to the BDP because of his sheer bravery and fearlessness amongst his many attributes. No one comes close. He inspires us. We pray that the good Lord protects him at all times. Those who are in ICU should never pronounce on anyone's health status for their vision is impaired.

The BNF Lives!
