October is World Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Ministry of Entrepreneurship organized a breast cancer awareness session for its staff. During this session, participants learned techniques for breast self-examination and were encouraged to stay informed, get screened, and spread the word about breast cancer. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against this disease.

Dr. Mvula from Journey of Hope emphasized that 90% of early-stage breast cancers are curable, often with treatments that preserve the breast. She urged everyone to perform self-examinations monthly to detect early signs of breast cancer and to visit their doctors regularly for screenings.

The theme for 2024 is “No one should face breast cancer alone.” Let’s show our support for warriors and survivors by wearing pink clothing or accessories.

MINISTRY OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINS DEPARTMENTS ON INTEGRATED FIXED ASSETS REGISTER (IFAR)

The Ministry of Entrepreneurship recently held a training session on the Integrated Fixed Assets Register (IFAR), a crucial Oracle-based tool for managing Government assets. This module allows for effective tracking of fixed assets such as vehicles and buildings, helping prevent theft, loss, and misplacement.

Key facilitators from the Office of the Accountant General, including Ms. Annah K. Masimega, Ms. Caroline O. Mapuranga, and Mr. Thabo Mhlambi, emphasized that IFAR is a vital part of the Government’s Transformation Agenda, contributing to a robust data management and real-time decision-making.

The training covered essential functions of IFAR, including asset addition, transfers, retirement, tracking, reporting, adjustments, and depreciation. Participants from various departments across the Ministry including Procurement and Project Management, engaged in discussions on the system’s benefits.

For his part delivering the remarks, Acting Director, Procurement and Project Management, Mr. Rapedisang Fulele expressed gratitude to the facilitators and participants, highlighting that the training aligns with the ministry’s goal of fostering an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem. He encouraged attendees to apply their knowledge and share it with others, ensuring a successful rollout of IFAR going forward. He also revealed that the ministry also anticipates fast-tracking similar training for the Supply & Warehousing Inventory Management System (SWIMS). This initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing asset management and transparency within the Ministry of Entrepreneurship.
