How to circle yourself around new people?
1. Go Where New People Gather
Attend networking events, social mixers, or community meetups.
Join clubs, hobby groups, or volunteer organizations.
Say yes to invites you might usually skip (birthday parties, workshops, open mics).
2. Change Your Routine
Work from a different coffee shop or co-working space.
Take a new gym class or group fitness session.
Walk a different neighborhood or visit new social spots.
3. Spark Small Interactions
Make small talk at the gym, coffee shop, or line at events.
Compliment someone’s outfit or ask a light question (“Is this your first time here?”).
Use social media to comment meaningfully (not just likes) — this builds online-to-real-life connections.
4. Leverage Mutual Connections
Ask your friends or colleagues to introduce you to people they think you’d vibe with.
Go as someone’s +1 to events you wouldn’t normally attend.
5. Stay Open + Approachable
Avoid burying yourself in your phone when you’re in public or at events.
Smile, make eye contact, and show open body language.
Say yes more often — even if it’s out of your comfort zone.
