🏆The Stanley Cup is more than just a trending drinking cup!

The original Stanley Cup is the oldest trophy awarded to professional athletes in North America and there is only one! Each year, hockey champions get to spend quality time with the Cup before it makes its way back to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.

Do you have a Stanley Cup? Whether it’s hockey’s famous trophy or the cup keeping your drink cold, share a photo of you and your Stanley Cup in the comments!

Meet Bonolo Selaledi, a proud mother of two HIV-negative children, despite living with HIV herself. When Botswana’s Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) program began in 2002, the risk of transmitting HIV from a mother to her child was around 40%.

Through U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other partners, Botswana has now brought that figure down to under 1%.

Botswana became the first high HIV-burden country to achieve Gold Tier Certification on the path to elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV.

Bonolo’s story reflects how far Botswana in partnership with CDC has come in protecting mothers and babies from HIV.

🇺🇸🇧🇼 Last week, our Public Diplomacy team traveled to the Ghanzi District and Jwaneng as part of our programming.

The team toured the Cheetah Conservation Botswana campsite to learn about the great things they are doing to promote peaceful co-existence between people and wildlife, had a podcast interview with Deputy Council Chairman Xukuri Xukuri, who is also the councilor for D’kar and South-East Gantsi, and a talk on American history at Gantsi Senior Secondary School.

It was great connecting with students and community leaders and bringing programming to communities across Botswana.
