DWNP PROMOTES CONSERVATION AT KANG CULTURAL DAY

The Department of Wildlife and National Parks (DWNP) participated in the Kang Cultural Day today the 4th September 2026, using the platform to raise awareness on the importance of conserving and sustainably utilising Botswana’s natural resources.

Visitors to the DWNP exhibition stall expressed appreciation for the information and conservation products showcased. Speakers at the event encouraged communities to use natural resources responsibly and explore tourism-related opportunities to derive sustainable economic benefits and improve livelihoods.

Vulture Day awareness Walk

The Minister of Environment and Tourism, Honourable Wynter Boipuso Mmolotsi, will on Saturday, 5 September 2026, lead a community awareness walk in commemoration of Vulture Day.

The walk is a community initiative aimed at raising awareness about the vital role vultures play in maintaining healthy ecosystems and promoting their conservation and protection.

The initiative seeks to encourage communities to appreciate the ecological importance of vultures and support efforts to safeguard these important birds and their natural habitats.

Members of the public are encouraged to participate in the walk and join the call for greater awareness and action towards vulture conservation and the protection of nature.
