GCC PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE LATE MR THABANG SELALEDI

Gaborone City Council (GCC) held a heartfelt memorial service in honour of the late Mr Thabang Selaledi, who served the Council diligently as a Cleaner I. Colleagues, family members, and friends gathered to celebrate his life.

The City Mayor, His Worship Oarabile Motlaleng, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing Mr Selaledi as a valued member of staff whose commitment and humility will be fondly remembered. He urged the bereaved family to remain strong and draw comfort from their unity, cherished memories, and faith in God during this difficult time.

Deputy Mayor Honourable Mankie Sekete also conveyed words of comfort, encouraging the family to seek solace in the Lord, reminding them that “blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”

Speaking at the memorial service, his supervisor Nurse Superintendent at Block 9 Clinic Ms Mapeu also paid tribute to Mr Selaledi, describing him as a dedicated and hardworking individual who carried out his duties with commitment and pride. She highlighted Mr Selaledi’s humble nature, saying he treated everyone with respect and kindness, and would always be remembered for his calm spirit and willingness to serve others wholeheartedly.

GCC extends its sincere condolences to the Selaledi family, friends, and colleagues. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

GCC CELEBRATES THE LIFE OF MR ODUMETSE MOTSHEGARE

Gaborone City Council (GCC) held a solemn memorial service in honour of the late Mr. Odumetse Motshegare, a Public Health Attendant remembered for his humility, compassion, and dedication to duty.

Deputy Town Clerk Operations, Ms Mosidi Batsalelwang offered words of comfort to the family, urging them to draw strength from Mr. Motshegare exemplary life and values.

Deputy Town Clerk (Primary Health Care) Ms. Kgomotso Moruisi, also praised his humility and kindness towards colleagues.

Family, friends, and colleagues reflected on his calm demeanor and strong work ethic, sharing memories that highlighted his commitment to service.

Mr Motshegare will be laid to rest on Saturday 23rd May 2026 in Ditshegwane, Motsamai Ward. GCC extends its heartfelt condolences to the Motshegare family. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
