Chobe District Council Chairperson also the Chobe Waste Management Brand Ambassador Honourable Johane Chenjekwa speaking at a spot famously known as 'Italy' in Kasane.

He mentions that waste management is everyone’s responsibility. Through the allocation of routes to different businesses, departments, offices and institutions, we are encouraging all stakeholders to take ownership of their designated areas by keeping them clean and well maintained.

On Friday 28th August 2026 various government departments participated in taking their services closer to the people of Lesoma.

Council departments including Revenue, Primary Health Care, Housing (BONNO) and Commercial affairs came together ,

Services provided include issuing of Vendors and Hawkers license and health screening and information provision on healthy living and various diseases as well as advertisement of the Kalahari sands building blocks .
