𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃𝐔𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐍𝐅 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐘 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄

1. The Botswana National Front informs its members, party structures, alliance partners and the public that its Special Policy Conference, previously scheduled for 9–11 October 2026, will now take place from 23–25 October 2026 in Selebi-Phikwe.

2. The Conference has been rescheduled to enable the Party to marshal its members, mobilise its structures and concentrate its organisational strength and resources on the Sefhophe by-election, with the aim of securing a decisive victory for the Umbrella for Democratic Change and consolidating the gains of the people’s struggle.

3. The tasks before the movement demand unity, discipline and collective action. The BNF calls upon its structures and members to rally behind the UDC campaign and discharge this electoral duty with determination and solidarity.

4. Party structures, delegates and invited stakeholders are requested to realign their preparations with the revised dates. Further organisational arrangements will be communicated through official Party channels.

5. The BNF regrets any inconvenience occasioned by this adjustment and appreciates the cooperation of its members and partners. The strength of the movement rests on our capacity to act together and place our collective energies at the service of the struggle.

The Botswana National Front (BNF) notes with dismay the document circulating under, dated 26 September 2026, entitled “Rebuttal Against Former President Ian Khama’s Abuse of the Kgotla System for Political Campaign.”

The document is fake. It was not issued by the BNF. Its purported attribution to the BNF Secretary for Political Education is false. The views and allegations contained in it do not represent the position of the Party.

The BNF condemns the fabrication of communications in its name and calls upon media houses, Party members and the public to disregard this document and refrain from circulating it as an official BNF statement. Those who have already published or shared it as authentic are requested to correct the record and communicate this clarification to their audiences.

Official Party positions are communicated through authorised office-bearers and recognised BNF communication channels. Any uncertainty concerning the authenticity of a statement attributed to the Party should be referred to the Office of the Publicity Secretary for verification.

The BNF remains committed to responsible political communication and public debate grounded in accurately attributed statements and verifiable information.

The interesting question is whether the conference will simply reaffirm existing BNF positions or result in substantive policy changes that can influence the government programme.

In his absence Comrade Monica Cindy Molome the Secretary of Women Affairs will be the acting Secretary General until his return.
