Makoro Brick and Tile General Manager Ms Dorcus Moshesha says her company is an epitome of economic diversification in Botswana. She said Makoro Bricks has ventured into Bricks, Water Storage Solutions, Agriculture and Hospitality industry among others. He said this during the Minister of Water and Human Settlement Hon Onneetse Ramogapi's visit to the company in Palapye. This morning, the Department of Housing hosted an Anti-Corruption Unit Officer, Mr. Thuso Moji, for a corruption prevention sensitization session with staff.

The session focused on strengthening ethics and professionalism in the workplace. Key takeaways included:

Accountability, Honesty, Reliability, Fairness, Teamwork, Effective Communication, Time Management, Competence and Good Etiquette.

Staff were also reminded to be aware of their environment and uphold personal integrity in all service delivery areas.

The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) Botswana today hosted a Joint Permanent Technical Committee stakeholder engagement with counterparts from South Africa to deliberate on matters relating to water quality, the management of aquatic weeds and joint monitoring of Upper Limpopo Basin.

The engagement brought together stakeholders and technical experts from the Department of Water and Sanitation (Botswana), Department of Water and Sanitation (South Africa), Water Utilities Corporation (WUC), and Magalies Water(South Africa).

The meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to share experiences and challenges, report on achievements, and provide updates on action items arising from previous engagements. Participants also reflected on progress made in implementing agreed interventions and identified areas requiring further attention and collaboration.

The engagement emphasized the importance of continued cooperation, information sharing, coordinated interventions in finding sustainable solutions to challenges as well as strengthening bilateral cooperation and promote the sustainable management and protection of water resources.
