As part of the build-up to the next Botswana Early Stage Program cohort, BDIH, in partnership with the MIT Kuo Sharper Center for Prosperity and Entrepreneurship, hosted an inspiring Coffee Session bringing together innovators, entrepreneurs, and ecosystem stakeholders.

Participants heard from Leverage Point Founder & CEO, Kenneth Setimela, who shared his entrepreneurial journey from carrying his startup in a backpack to leading a growing company employing approximately 20 people. He highlighted the value of programmes such as the Botswana Early Stage Program and Stanford Seed in helping entrepreneurs build scalable and sustainable businesses.

First cohort beneficiaries ๐…๐ซ๐ž๐๐๐ข๐ž ๐‘๐š๐ค๐ฐ๐š๐๐ข (๐๐ข๐จ๐‚๐ซ๐ฎ๐๐ž ๐ˆ๐ง๐ง๐จ๐ฏ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ) and ๐„๐ซ๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐’๐ž๐›๐จ๐ ๐จ๐๐ข (๐Œ๐จ๐ข๐ญ๐ก๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข ๐€๐ˆ) also shared their experiences and encouraged aspiring founders to apply.

The session concluded with ๐€๐๐ž๐ฅ ๐„๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฅ๐ข of the MIT Kuo Sharper Center, who provided an overview of the programme, its benefits, and the application process.

During the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) celebrations held in Natale this past Saturday, our CEO, Kabo Phetlhu, proudly presented certificates to secondary school teachers who successfully completed a Generative AI training programme for primary and secondary school educators.

Delivered in partnership with IT-IQ, the programme provided educators with practical skills in AI and Generative AI tools, AI-powered content creation, cybersecurity awareness, and the ethical considerations surrounding emerging technologies such as deepfakes.

This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to equipping educators with the digital skills needed to thrive in the future of education.
