KANYE DISTRICT CONDUCTED THE MARKET DAY
Kanye District hosted a Market Day on 29th May 2026 with the primary objective of stimulating the local economy and supporting the growth and recovery of local businesses. Various departments under the District Economic Development Committee showcased a diverse range of products and services available in Kanye and its surrounding areas. The initiative sought to address challenges faced by local producers, particularly limited access to markets, by providing a platform for direct interaction with customers. The event created opportunities for exhibitors to establish new business relationships, increase product visibility, and expand their market reach. In addition, representatives from Botswana Building Society Bank, and HB Photography participated as exhibitors, further enriching the variety of services and products showcased during the event.

Kanye District Council Fire Department last week conducted a First Aid and Fire Marshalls training workshop at Moshupa Brigade to broaden life saving skills to youth in Moshupa and surrounding areas. The training was instituted by the Ministry Youth and Gender Affairs.

Kanye District Council is this week is holding a workshop to cascade the 2026/27 Annual Performance Plan Framework.

Speaking at the start of the workshop's first cohort yesterday, the Deputy Council Secretary Mr Patrick Keongadile said the public expectations from staff was to perform, hence the need to have a plan.
