𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗜𝗧’𝗦 𝗔 𝗪𝗥𝗔𝗣! |

The 2026 National Business Conference officially concluded with a Note of Thanks by Mr Humphrey Nawa, the Business Botswana Vice President–North. The Ministry of Trade and Entrepreneurship Botswana, Hon. Tiroeaone Ntsima, Officially Closed the Conference and in his address to delegates, he underscored the importance of open dialogue and that as Government they will take continuous feedback from the Private Sector and improve the Ease of Doing Business. He thanked the Private Sector for supporting Government in the creation of jobs and capital investment in Botswana. He assured support in the translation of dialogue into tangible economic outcomes and encouraged all to be focused on this.

Business Botswana extends its sincere appreciation to the Francistown Leadership, Delegates, Partners, Sponsors and Stakeholders who contributed to the success of .

𝗡𝗕𝗖𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗨𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

Dr Ita Mannathoko, a member of the Conference’s Organising Committee, presented the draft conference resolutions, which will be finalised later with delegates to ensure alignment and effective implementation towards a private sector led Botswana.

Mr Wanatsha Moakufi, Conference Co-Chairperson highlighted the importance of inclusive and impactful resolutions and buttressed Debswana’s commitment in the public-private dialogue steered by the NBC.

Mr Kabelo Ebineng, representing the Permanent Secretary to the President who is the Conference’s Co-Chair, emphasised the need for stronger collaboration and partnerships between Government and the Private Sector to drive economic growth. He shared the National Planning Commission’s commitment to support drive of this process from Government’s end.

The session underscored the importance of translating dialogue into coordinated action and ensuring that stakeholders’ resolutions contribute to meaningful economic transformation.

This session focused on escalating resolutions from Business Botswana Partners’ 2026 Conferences/Summits to ensure alignment of the various engagements with the 2026 National Business Conference resolutions. Working towards coherent and inclusive implementation for advancement of the Botswana’s business environment for a thriving private sector.

Mr Wanatsha Moakufi, Conference Co-Chairperson, presented the respective escalations on behalf of the various partners like; Bank of Botswana’s Investment Pitso, Women in Mining Summit, FAO Agricultural Investment Summit and Future of Mining Conference among others.
The session also featured presentations by; Captain Thuto Toise from Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana - CAAB on the AVIADEV Conference,
Mr Joseph Ramotshabi from Botswana Chamber of Mines on the Local Manufacturing Summit and Ms Lily Rakorong from Hospitality and Tourism Association of Botswana on the HATAB Annual Conference

Business, networking and entertainment came together for a Sundowner at Riverside Deck courtesy of Kgalagadi Breweries Limited - KBL. Delegates were treated to a beautiful evening of connections and entertainment as the NBC2026 was winding up.

The evening featured vibrant DJ sets (DJ Chen) and performances by local artists Maxy Khoisan and HanC, creating the perfect atmosphere for delegates to unwind, connect and build meaningful business relationships.

At the National Business Conference 2026, Debswana Diamond Company and BBS Bank signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise cooperation on the Citizen Economic Empowerment Programme (CEEP), reinforcing their commitment to advancing citizen economic participation.

At the 18th National Business Conference, International Labour Organization (ILO) Regional Director Mr Alexio Musindo highlighted regional value chains, decent work and skills development and the platform economy as key priorities for Africa’s and hence Botswana’s economic transformation. He buttressed ILO’s commitment to supporting the tripartite (Employers, Workers and Government) in labour regulatory instruments as well as roll out of the Platform Economy convention.

In the 2nd keynote address, Mrs Gloria Phekani, CEO of Milele Agroprocessing Limited (Malawi) emphasised value addition, structured production clusters, innovative financing and improved access to international markets to drive high-value exports and sustainable jobs creation.

Under the theme “𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘋𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘋𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺: 𝘉𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘋𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘌𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯,” both addresses underscored the need to translate economic ambitions into practical action.
