The provisional grading range is as follows, but not fixed at national level
A. 80 and above

C. 60 -69
D. 40 -59
E. 20 - 39
U. 19 and below
Overall
Merit. 63
A. 55. - 62
B. 41. - 54
C. 27. - 40
D. 13. - 26
E. 12. -7
U. 6. - 0

Subjects are grouped in 3 categories

1. 4 Core (Main), Setswana, English, Mathematics and Science (All the 4 are used for grading)

2. Options, 2 subjects for locals and maybe 3 for foreigners. ( The best 1 is used for grading while the other falls to group 3.

3. Other cores plus remaining option(s).
Social Studies, Agriculture. MORAL education plus the remaining option(s). You pick the best 2 from the 4(5).

A total of 7 subjects are used for grading.
