Bamalete Lutheran Hospital is a reputable; very busy level 1 District Mission Hospital providing a range of health care services. The Hospital invites applications from suitable candidates for the following positions:
VACANY NO: 5 OF 2026
1. Position: SPECIALIST ANAESTHETIST
Salary scale: E2 (P449, 256 – P467, 436) per annum
Qualifications: First Grade Specialist in Anaesthesiology
Experience: At least 1 year post qualification.
Duties & Responsibilities: All basic duties related to the medical department of a busy District Hospital:
• Heads the Anaesthesia department and is responsible for the efficiency of the department. This includes decisive ward rounds, counseling of patients and relatives, ordering investigations, referring patients to other departments or facilities.
• Gives Anaesthesia to patients, supervises Anaesthesia given by others and advises on the scope safely possible.
• Competent in all Anaesthetic techniques
• Assists in the management of critical patients.
2. Position: MEDICAL OFFICER
Salary scale:D4 (255, 948 – 282,120) per annum
Qualifications: Bachelor of Medicine (MBchB)
Experience: At least 1 year post qualification. Experience in Obstetrics and should be able to perform caesarean sections on his / her own.
Duties & Responsibilities: All basic duties related to the medical department of a busy District Hospital:
• Takes history and physically examines the patient.
• Assesses the patient and continuously refines and updates findings through subsequent examinations of the patient.
• Refers patients to Senior Health Care providers for management above his/her level of competence.
• Takes calls.
3. Position: CHIEF PHARMACY TECHNICIAN
Salary Scale: D4 (255, 948 – 282, 120) per annum
Qualifications: Diploma in Pharmacy Technician
Experience: At least 3 years as Principal Pharmacy Technician
• Computer Literacy and ARV experience is of advantage
• Registered and licensed to practiceDuties & responsibilities: All duties related to pharmacy in a busy District
Hospital:
The Officer should be able to work independently and his/her responsibilities include among others:
• Ordering, Stock control and dispensing of pharmaceuticals as per Ministry of Health and Mission Standards.
• Taking calls, Supervising and guiding junior staff.
• Deputizing the Pharmacist.
4. Position: THEATRE NURSE
Salary scale: C1 (P192, 588 – P229, 104 per annum) plus allowances
Qualifications: Diploma in General Nursing plus Post Basic Diploma in
Theatre Nursing
Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a theatre nurse
Duties & Responsibilities: Duties are but not limited to:
• Providing pre-operative nursing care for patients within the operating room.
• Performing operating department work with agreed SOPS and theatre policies.
• Participating in supervision of junior staff and assisting in Bacteriological investigation in theatre.
• Assisting in compilation of theatre procedure manuals and nursing reports.
5. Position: PRINCIPAL REGISTERED NURSE- MIDWIFESalary Scale:C1 (P192, 588 – P229, 104 per annum) plus allowances
Qualifications: Post Basic Diploma in Midwifery
Experience: At least 2 years of Midwifery experience
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Systematic comprehensive health history taking and physical assessment. of clients and patients in Reproductive Health Unit, Maternity Ward and General Wards.
• Identifies and manages effectively common obstetric emergencies.
• Identifies health care needs, makes diagnoses following correct interpretation of findings and takes appropriate actions across the human life cycle.
