‎In his welcome remarks, Kgosi Matshidiso Babeile of Kisa outlined concerns regarding delays in the allocation of residential plots. He encouraged those involved in the preliminary processes of preparing land for allocation to diligently perform their duties to ensure that the allocation process is expedited. Kgosi Babeile further acknowledged that some residents were not complying with the terms and conditions of their lease agreements and should be taken to task.

‎The Kgalagadi Land Board Chairperson Ms Diana Basutli consulted residents of Kisa on several matters, including the suspension of extensions and new applications for agricultural purposes such as ploughing fields, small-stock farming and other arable uses. Discussions also focused on the payment of lease rentals, compliance with development covenants, and the utilisation and management of existing arable land to promote food security. The Land Board further encouraged leaseholders operating businesses to engage potential investors who could take over and continue the operations of such businesses.

‎Residents raised several concerns, among them delays in production and issuance of secure land titles, as well as delays in the allocation of residential plots. They urged the Land Board to repossess plots that remain undeveloped and reallocate them to deserving applicants.

‎The Kgalagadi Land Board also expressed concern regarding farmers who drill boreholes within ploughing fields for the purpose of watering livestock. The Deputy Board Secretary, Mr Kress Ramakgabana, explained that such activities constitute conflicting land uses and may result in disputes within the village.

‎Residents shared the same concerns and urged the Land Board to conduct thorough investigations into cases of conflicting land uses and ensure that land is utilised in accordance with its designated purpose and the applicable lease conditions.

Kgalagadi Land Board SERVICE CENTRE - Satellite Office at BRAY

Yesterday Kgalagadi Land Board visited the Hereford Community to enlighten them on the process, procedures and requirements for services at the Land Board.

During this Public education excursion the attendees had the opportunity to apply for residential plots and to get a clarification process to acquire other services.
