WELCOME!

This page serves as an avenue of communication and information dissemination for the newly established Jesuit Migrant Accompaniment Project.

The Jesuit Migrant Accompaniment Project (JMAP) is an outreach of the Society of Jesus in Belize (the Jesuits). Our team is comprised of persons from various professional and ethnic backgrounds, who share a sense of calling to respond to the marginalization of migrants and refugees in Belize.
The organization contributes to the creation of a Belizean community wherein the dignity of all persons is embraced, regardless of the place of origin. It focuses on working with migrants and refugees in Belize City to adapt and contribute to life in Belize. The vision is carried out through:
1. Research, to understand the conditions of migrants and refugees in Belize.
2. Accompaniment, to build solidarity and empower migrants and refugees;
3. Advocacy, to build a more inclusive society
