SOUTHERN REGION

COMPSTAT MID-YEAR 2026

“Building a team involves bringing people together, while teamwork allows those individuals to utilize their different abilities, values, and beliefs to accomplish something they may not be able to achieve alone.”

The Southern Region CompStat Mid-Year 2026 was held at Blue Reef Resort, Seine Bight Village, on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The proceedings were chaired by the Mistress of Ceremonies, Aretha Gordon, Sgt. #98, Officer in Charge of the Seine Bight Community Oriented Policing Unit. She acknowledged Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Alden Dawson; Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, Mrs. Sandra Bodden; Southern Region Commander, Superintendent Brent Hamilton; and other senior officers from across the region.

Opening remarks were delivered by Sherwood Wade, Assistant Superintendent of Police and Officer Commanding, Intermediate Southern Formation, followed by remarks from Superintendent Hamilton.

Commanders and representatives from the various formations and sub-formations delivered presentations on crime statistics, community policing initiatives, officers’ welfare, operational activities, station management, and resource availability and utilization.

The Commanders also highlighted concerns relating to resources, operational capacity, and the needs of their respective formations. These matters were addressed by Deputy Commissioners Dawson and Bodden, who provided guidance and clarification.

CONCLUSION

The Southern Region CompStat Mid-Year 2026 provided an important platform for accountability, collaboration, and strategic decision-making. The discussions highlighted the importance of teamwork, effective resource management, communication, and proactive policing in addressing challenges across the region.

Overall, the CompStat reinforced the need for collective efforts to reduce crime, strengthen community partnerships, improve police operations, and provide quality service to communities throughout the Southern Region.

Special acknowledgement is extended to the Seine Bight Police Sub-Formation for hosting the CompStat and to Blue Reef Resort for providing the venue.

Life isn’t meant to be controlled.
It’s meant to be faced.
