In 2003, Sir Shridath Ramphal received Belize's highest national honour, the Order of Belize, for service to Belize, the Caribbean, the developing world, and the international community generally - a true friend of Belize.

Belize mourns with the rest of the Caribbean over the death of senior Guyanese statesman, Sir Shridath Ramphal. He was the embodiment of principled diplomacy, with a highly decorated career which contributed to the advancement of the CARICOM integration agenda. May his soul rest in peace.🕊️
