The Benque Viejo Town Council is asking the following driver’s license holders to kindly pick up their driver’s license cards at the Benque Viejo Town Council at the earliest opportunity. If you have a receipt and haven’t picked up your driver’s license card, you can come to the Traffic Department office to collect it Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

The Benque Viejo Town Council proudly provides students every year with meaningful summer jobs. This year the Benque Viejo Town Council has employed 50 students, both young boys and girls, for two weeks to carry out works across Benque Viejo Town. These students are working on the beautification and maintenance of our public spaces and green spaces.

The aim of the summer program is not limited to just providing employment to these students. Its aim is also to provide students with hands on work experience while contributing to the betterment of their community and fostering a sense of civic responsibility. We thank every student working this summer for their hard work, service and contribution to the development of our town.

With the most recent conversations with the National Bus Company of Belize. This could be the end product of what BENQUE VIEJO BUS STOP can look like and can be in the coming months. When there is a clear vision as to where we want to go as a town. With the right leadership and support of every Benqueño we can achieve many more things that need to be accomplished for Benque’s transformation. This project is of benefit for every visitor from Belize and abroad who visits Benque. This project also benefits small businesses and Benque Viejo Town Council as a generator of revenues and employment to continue the works of the Council.

A few days ago, the flagpole cable burst and needed to be replaced. Today, Mayor Rosales went up 75 feet into the air to replace the cable and our Belize flag is up in the air again, waving at everyone who sees it up in the sky. As a leader, Mayor Rosales could have sent one of the employees to get the job done, but given that he is a mayor who has the skills and experience, he decided to do it himself because he believes in leadership and leading by example. The Benque Viejo Town Council thanks Mayor Rosales for installing the cable and having our Belize flag flying high once again in Benque. Proud Belizeans, Proud Benqueño!

Today, the Benque Viejo Town Council completed roadworks at the entrance of Altun Ha Street coming off from Maya Street in Lomas del Rodeo area. Every day, Benque Viejo moves forward and continues to develop thanks to your continued support.
