πŸŒžπŸ“š What an incredible way to wrap up our Library Summer Program! πŸ“šπŸŒž

What a fantastic day filled with adventure, discovery, laughter, and unforgettable memories! Our participants explored the fascinating Cerros Maya Temple, where they learned about our rich Maya history and cultural heritage. They also enjoyed the breathtaking beauty of Warrie Bight, where everyone had a wonderful time swimming in the crystal-clear sea. Our final stop was the ESTM Farm, where the children delighted in seeing pigs, ducks, chickens, and goats while learning more about farm life and agriculture.

This exciting field trip was the perfect way to celebrate a summer of reading, learning, friendship, and fun. Watching the children explore new places, ask questions, laugh together, and create lasting memories was truly the best way to end another successful Summer Library Program.

A very special and heartfelt thank you goes to Hon. Thea Garcia Ramirez, who has generously sponsored our Library Summer Program for two consecutive years. Your unwavering commitment to our children and your continued investment in education, literacy, and community development have made a meaningful difference in the lives of the children. Because of your generosity, our children were able to experience two weeks of learning, adventure, and joy that they will remember for years to come. Your kindness, leadership, and belief in the importance of creating opportunities for our children are deeply appreciated. On behalf of the Corozal Public Library, the children, their families, and our entire community, thank you for your continued support and for helping make this programme such a remarkable success.

To all the children, parents, CSFI, Agriculture Department, partners and everyone who contributed to making this year's Library Summer Program such a tremendous successβ€”thank you! Your enthusiasm, encouragement, and support made this summer truly unforgettable.

As we close this chapter, we do so with hearts full of gratitude, wonderful memories, and excitement for what's to come. We are already looking forward to welcoming everyone back next year for an even bigger, brighter, and more exciting Library Summer Program. Until then, keep reading, keep learning, and keep dreaming! πŸ“šβœ¨β€οΈ

πŸŒ±πŸ“š Library Summer Program 2026 – "Plant a Seed, Mek Wi Read" 🌳🍊

Today's adventure took our young readers to CASRIV Farm, where our theme, "Plant a Seed, Mek Wi Read," truly came to life!

The children planted mahogany and tangerine trees, learning that just like a tiny seed grows into a strong tree, every book they read helps their minds grow with knowledge, imagination, and confidence.

They had an exciting time identifying trees and flowers, drawing and painting their favorite tree, and harvesting local treasures, including carboo, golden plums, and fresh local limes. The farm echoed with laughter, curiosity, and the joy of discovery.

A heartfelt thank you to the Castaneda family for welcoming us to CASRIV Farm and providing such a meaningful hands-on learning experience. Your generosity helped our children connect with nature while creating memories they will cherish.

The children returned to the library with happy hearts, hands full of fresh fruits, and minds filled with new knowledge. Today's visit reminded us that when we plant a seed and read a book, we are nurturing growth that can last a lifetime.

🌱 Plant a Seed, Mek Wi Readβ€”because every seed planted and every page turned helps our children grow!

πŸŒ±πŸπŸ“š What an AMAZING day at our Library Summer Program! πŸ“šπŸπŸŒ±

Today, we had the privilege of welcoming the Corozal Agriculture Department, and what a wonderful learning experience it was for our children!

A special thank you to Mr. Torres, Mr. Blanco, and Mr. Cocom, extension Officers for their fun, interactive, and educational presentation. The children were fully engaged as they learned about the importance of agriculture, the essential role bees play in helping plants grow, and why we must care for our environment.

A huge thank you as well to Ms. Melissa Balan, Acting District Agriculture Officer, for sending such an amazing team to share their knowledge and inspire our young learners.

One of the biggest highlights of the day was seeing real beehives up closeβ€”a fascinating first-hand experience! 🐝🍯 To top it all off, every child got to plant their very own cucumber seedling to take home and care for. πŸ₯’πŸŒ±

It was truly a day filled with learning, discovery, and hands-on fun. Experiences like these help cultivate curious minds and a lifelong appreciation for nature and agriculture.

🌱🚜 A Day of Learning, Laughter, and a Little Cardio at Esquivel's Farm! 🚜🌱
Today, our children had the wonderful opportunity to visit Esquivel's Farm, where they learned firsthand about farming practices and crop production. They discovered the hard work, dedication, and care that go into growing the food we enjoy every day.

Of course, no farm visit would be complete without a little adventure! πŸ˜„ One of the funniest moments of the day came when a few curious cattle decided to chase after us! The children quickly turned it into an unexpected cardio session, running up and down the field with lots of laughter and excitement. Thankfully, the cattle were completely harmless they were simply curious and reacting to all the noise and excitement from the children. It was a hilarious experience that had everyone laughing and created a memory we won't soon forget!

The excitement of the cattle chase was soon forgotten as the children eagerly picked fresh star fruit from the trees. With happy faces and busy hands, they enjoyed every moment of this sweet farm adventure!

We are incredibly grateful to the Esquivel's Farm team for welcoming us and sharing their knowledge. Experiences like these help our children learn beyond the classroom while creating joyful memories they'll treasure for years to come.

A heartfelt thank you to Esquivel's Farm for making this educational visit both meaningful and unforgettable! πŸŒΎπŸ’š

Today marked Day 5 of our program, and what a wonderful way to end our first week together! πŸŒΏπŸƒ

We completed our beautiful Reading Tree and had an exciting discussion about seeds and leaves. The children explored why leaves come in different shapes and sizes and learned how they help trees grow and thrive.

Our little learners were fully engaged in their hands-on activities, showing curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm every step of the way.

We're so proud of all they have accomplished this week and can't wait for more learning and fun in the weeks ahead! πŸ’šπŸŒ±

Day 4 of Our Summer Program! πŸŒΏπŸ“–πŸ’š

Four days in, and our Summer Program continues to inspire and delight our young readers!

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Sayuri from the Belize Maya Forest Trust, who shared with the children the incredible work being done to protect 241,500 acres of the Belize Maya Forest. Her presentation helped our campers appreciate the importance of conserving Belize's rich natural heritage for future generations.

Our reading adventure continued with Busy Day, Busy Night in the Rain Forest, where the children discovered the fascinating animals and activities that take place in the rainforest during both the day and the night.

To wrap up the day, the children participated in a special hands-on activity called "My Reading Journey." Each child created a colorful leaf, writing a new word they learned or sharing a favorite story they've read during the program. Every leaf represents a step in their growing love of reading, and together they are creating a beautiful tree of learning and imagination.

A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Sayuri and the Belize Maya Forest Trust for making today's experience so meaningful. We are grateful for our community partners who help inspire our children to become lifelong readers and thoughtful stewards of our environment.

We can't wait to see what Day 5 will bring! πŸŒ³πŸ“šβœ¨

🌿 Summer Program – Day 3 🌿

Rain couldn't keep our young learners away! πŸŒ§οΈπŸ’š Despite the weather, our children showed up with smiles, excitement, and a love for learning.

Yesterday's lesson focused on plant cells, brought to life through the wonderful story Leo and the Green Team by Mr. Pol. The students also enjoyed a fun hands-on activity, coloring and labeling the different parts of a plant cell while learning how each part helps a plant grow and thrive.

We are incredibly proud of our students' enthusiasm, perseverance, and commitment. Their determination reminds us that nothing can stop a child who is eager to learn! 🌱✨

πŸŒžπŸ“š Our Annual Summer Program Started with a Bang! 🌳🐝
What an amazing first day of learning, creativity, and fun!
We were delighted to welcome the Corozal Sustainable Future Initiative (CSFI), a Belizean non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the conservation of Belize's natural diversity. A heartfelt thank you to CSFI for generously donating trees for our children to plant. Together, we're helping to grow a greener future! πŸŒ±πŸ’š
Our day also featured a wonderful read-aloud of "The Honey Bee" by Mr. Nahim Pol, who captivated the children with this inspiring story.
The excitement continued with an arts and crafts activity where each child created their own "My Reading Tree." πŸƒπŸ“– Each leaf represents part of their reading journey, showcasing their favorite books and stories. It was a beautiful way to celebrate the joy of reading while encouraging creativity and self-expression.
