The Blue Moon is still rising… and so is the wild 🌕✨
Did you know that during a full moon, some animals become more active? With increased light at night, movement patterns can shift — and as we get into Morelet’s breeding season the Full Moon is getting the party started! Males may begin traveling more frequently in search of females, which means wildlife sightings can increase this time of year.
This is where YOU come in.
If you see any wildlife — whether it’s a snake crossing the road, a nocturnal mammal on the move, or of course, a crocodile — you can contribute to our Community Science Database and help us better understand local wildlife patterns!
If you report a sighting, please include:
• 📍 Exact location
• 🕒 Date and time
• 🐾 Species (or best description)
• 📸 Photo or video (if safely obtained)
• 📝 Notable behavior observed
Your observations help us track breeding movements, identify high-activity corridors, reduce human-wildlife conflict, and strengthen coexistence strategies in our community.
The moon is bright. The wild is moving. Let’s learn together! 🌿
