Today, Wednesday, August 12th, Mayor Bernard Wagner welcomed Mayor Carlos “Obeah” Galvez of Punta Gorda Town for a courtesy visit and productive exchange on municipal leadership and local development.

Through their work together in the Belize Mayors’ Association, Mayor Wagner has come to know Mayor Galvez as a committed public servant, a strong advocate for municipal development, and a leader who believes deeply in the potential of Punta Gorda Town.

Their discussion reflected the value of collaboration among municipalities, as local leaders continue working to strengthen services, create opportunities and improve the quality of life for the people they serve.

Mayor Carlos Galvez and the Punta Gorda Town Council are proud to support our dedicated teachers as they prepare their classrooms for the new school year.

This grant is intended to assist teachers with classroom preparation and educational supplies, helping create a better learning environment for our students.

Who Qualifies?

✓ Funds must be used for classroom preparation and educational supplies

The Punta Gorda Town Council is pleased to announce that the culverts for the rehabilitation of the Magoon Bridge have officially arrived in Punta Gorda today, marking another important milestone in the project.

Repair works are scheduled to commence on *Wednesday, August 5, 2026*, as the Council continues its commitment to restoring safe and reliable access for residents and motorists.

The Council extends its sincere appreciation and thanks to Minister Julius Espat and the entire team at the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing (MIDH) in Belmopan and Punta Gorda/Toledo for their continued support and collaboration in making this important project possible. Their commitment to improving infrastructure continues to benefit the residents of Punta Gorda and the wider Toledo District.

The Council also appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during the construction period and will continue to provide updates as the project progresses.

Temporary Delivery Restrictions at the Welcome Plaza!

DELIVERIES AT THE PG CENTRAL PARK IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED!!!!!

Please be advised that the Welcome Plaza will be closed to all clothing vendors for deliveries on Thursday, July 30th and Friday, July 31st. This temporary restriction is due to a scheduled National MSME Roadshow 2026 event setup and hosting occupying the entire plaza area.

The Punta Gorda Town Council hereby authorizes that all deliveries be conducted at the Village Bus Parking Area, located between Tim's Hardware Store and Mahung's.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank the public and all delivery personnel for their cooperation.
