JSDF Toledo Improving the Health and Nutrition of Children in the Toledo District. (Japanese Social Development

The Japanese Social Development Fund (JSDF) was established by the Government of Japan and the World Bank in 2000 as a mechanism for providing direct assistance to the most vulnerable groups in eligible member countries of the World Bank Group, while fostering long-term social development. The JSDF grant seeks to provide rapid results in poverty alleviation and foster the direct participation of N

on-Government Organizations (NGOs), community groups and civil society. On June 15, 2011 the Government of Belize was the recipient of this grant which seeks to adderss chronic malnutriction (Stunting) within the sothern District of Toledo. To accomplish this, MOH developed & implemented a multidisciplinary approach focusing on addressing the key enabling factors of this detrimental chronic health condition.
