🔴🟡⚪️ We are heading for Sargassum Red Phase!! 😫 Beach crews have been going at it non-stop and we appreciate everyone that keeps helping with the extraction. 🦺💪🏼

We have been tackling sargassum long enough to understand that we gotta get it out as early as possible. And, we gotta do it ourselves, no matter what. 🙏🏡 🏝️

👉We have non-stop beach crews tackling different sections of Town Core on a daily basis
👉We upgraded all tools and equipment with support from community partners
👉We keep hiring Sargassum Workers to address more areas and heavy accumulations
👉We have a full-time tractor/trailer moving sargassum away
👉Our dump trucks do weekly removal of heavy accumulations
👉We established beach composting sites to recover sand for beach nourishment

👉We are negotiating with private property owners to establish strategic deposition sites for long term management
👉We are in dialogue with conservation partners to commence composting of sargassum to neutralize the heavy metal potential at deposition sites
👉We have acquired a new tractor specifically for beach management and sargasso cleanup
👉We are sourcing materials to create corrals at strategic extraction locations (sacrificial sites)
👉We are building low-cost machinery and trailers to assist with extraction in problem areas
👉We are rolling out and evaluating a program for approving Sargassum Temporary Structures and Heavy Machinery
👉We keep lobbying government and other partners for support with transfer equipment and vehicles (for both the municipality and our business community)

Our crew remains fully activated AND we are keeping track of all efforts. Sargassum is here to stay and we keep building on our Sargassum Response Program every year!! 🌎 🇧🇿
