We are very pleased to share the Weaving Authenticity final video, highlighting Indigenous businesses and artisans, including talented members of Semá:th and their incredible carving work.

We are proud to see our members sharing their talent, knowledge, creativity, and stories through their art. Carving carries more than craftsmanship — it is an expression of culture, identity, connection, and knowledge that continues to be carried forward.

We raise our hands 🙌🏼 to our Semá:th members featured in this video, and to Nate with Woven Cedar Films for the care and wonderful work that went into capturing and sharing their stories.

Join the partners of the Indigenous Businesses Working Group at Semá:th First Nation Hall on August 26 to acknowledge, learn and celebrate Indigenous storytelling, creativity, art and business through an evening of film, reflection, and community connection. This in-person gathering will showcase a short video created by Woven Cedar Films, featuring local artisans who share their experiences and perspectives.

The event will provide space to experience these stories together, engage in meaningful conversation, and reflect on the themes shared throughout the film. Following the screening, a moderated panel discussion will invite community members and guests to further explore ideas, perspectives, and opportunities for continued collaboration. Light appetizers will be provided by Raven’s Brewing!

📢 Reminder: SRWFMP Open House Information Session Today!

The Sumas River Watershed Flood Mitigation Planning Initiative (SRWFMP) Open House Information Session is taking place today 12:00-4:00 at the Clarion Hotel.

This is an opportunity to review the latest information on the project, learn more about the conceptual plan, and provide feedback on the proposed actions under consideration that will help shape the future of flood mitigation and ecosystem restoration planning within the watershed.

✔️ Experience supporting traditional ceremonies and cultural practices, and an understanding of the impacts of the residential school system and intergenerational trauma

✔️ Familiarity with various mental and physical health treatments and ability to seek out and provide recommendations to nation members when required;
