The Abbotsford General Local and school trustee election is coming up on October 17th! Archway held an all candidates meeting so that prospective city councilor candidates can share their stances and priorities on Abbotsford’s local food security system, if you weren’t able to attend in person you can watch the live stream by copying and pasting the link below!

Stephanie has been part of the Abbotsford Senior Secondary School community for more than 35 years.

Starting her career as an educational assistant before transitioning into a school career advisory role, she has witnessed firsthand how access to healthy, nutritious food through the Starfish Packs program can make a meaningful difference in a student’s life.

With food banks across the country facing increasing strain, Stephanie believes community support and programs like Starfish are more important than ever.

Happy Thanksgiving! 🍂🧡

Thanksgiving is a time to pause, reflect, and celebrate the people, moments, and opportunities that bring gratitude to our lives.

Whether you're gathering around the table with loved ones, sharing a traditional meal, or simply enjoying a well-deserved day of rest, we hope your holiday is filled with joy, warmth, and gratitude.

During Thanksgiving, it is important to remember that Indigenous Peoples across what is now Canada have long traditions of giving thanks for the land and its abundance. Long before the arrival of European settlers, many Indigenous Nations marked seasonal harvests through ceremonies, feasts, songs, dances, and cultural teachings. While traditions vary among Nations, gratitude, reciprocity, and respect for the land have been central to Indigenous ways of life for generations.

Please note that the Archway Food Bank will be closed on Monday, October 12th. Services will resume on Tuesday, October 13th.

Did you know that every month, we rely on roughly 543 volunteers, contributing an incredible 2,058 volunteer hours? 💛

It’s impossible to fully capture just how grateful we are for our volunteer team. Simply put, we couldn’t do the work we do without them.

Recently, we had the opportunity to host a barbecue to show our appreciation and celebrate the amazing people who give so much of their time to support us. It was just a small way for us to say thank you for all that they do!

Time and time again, we are blown away by the flexibility, joy, dedication, and hard work our volunteers bring each and every day. They make such a meaningful difference through volunteering their time.

To all of our incredible volunteers: thank you so much for everything you do for us. We appreciate you more than words can say! ❤️

Some donations come with a story, and this one touched our hearts. 🐄❤️

We are incredibly grateful to Save-On-Foods for a generous auction purchase and donation of over 1,400 lbs of beef to the Archway Food Bank. This generous donation will help to provide nutritious food to support individuals and families accessing the Archway Food Bank.

While receiving this generous gift, we met Peytan who had lovingly raised the steer herself.

Peytan was thrilled to learn that the steer` she cared for would ultimately support local families through our food bank. Her pride, compassion and excitement made this donation even more meaningful, and it’s a beautiful reminder of how many people play a role in supporting our community.

Thank you, Peytan, and thank you, Save-On-Foods, for making a difference in the lives of those we serve.
