And that’s a wrap on Summer Camps 2026! 🌊☀️

We had so much fun with all our campers and staff! This summer was full of adventures and outings. We hiked at Cascade Falls, spent sunny days at Harrison Beach, explored the Greater Vancouver Zoo, took in the ocean views at White Rock, visited local parks, and played plenty of kickball!

When we weren’t out exploring, we spent time at home base singing songs, dancing, making crafts, and enjoying time together.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this summer such a great one! We can’t wait to see you again next year! 💙

What our camera rolls look like after Community Fun Day! 📸🎞️

As you can tell from our camera roll, Community Fun Day was a success! There was so much to do at this amazing event put on by the community living organizations of Abbotsford. Everyone enjoyed the foam zone, relaxing at the picnic tables, endless games, ice cream treats, and live music. And yes, spontaneous dancing did break out when the Elvis songs started playing! 💃🕺

We loved having our photo booth there and getting to see so many familiar faces. Our photo booth crew had a great time catching up with everyone who stopped by to say hi and smile for the camera. This day was such a great reminder of how special and enriching community living really is.

It truly was a celebration of the spirit of community living: fun, inclusive, and empowering. ❤️

On a warm, breezy end-of-summer day, the Bethesda Richmond community gathered in the park for a time of intentional connection.

The gazebo was decorated with cheerful paper decorations, and the surrounding trees provided plenty of shade. A local church attended by many of the people we support led us in a few songs, including Shelter by Brian Doerksen. The words, “Everybody needs respect and dignity. Everybody needs love,” felt especially meaningful as the voices rose in volume around us.

Persons supported, family members, support staff, and church members all came together, reflecting the many relationships that make up the Richmond community. A short devotional on belonging was shared, followed by an amazing spread of homemade food.

But perhaps the best part was simply seeing everyone together—the hugs between old friends, the laughter, the stories and life updates being exchanged, and the joy of being with people who truly know one another. It was a beautiful reminder of what it means to belong: to be seen, valued, welcomed, and loved for who you are.

These are the moments that make community meaningful. A place where each person knows they matter, where there is always room to draw closer, and where genuine relationships remind us that we are better when everyone belongs. ❤️

Community Inclusion programs from Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Langley came together for a classic summer BBQ. 🌞

This gathering began as a vision from CI Manager Carrie, who wanted to create an enriching social experience where CI participants and staff could strengthen relationships across Bethesda Community Inclusion services.

The BBQ took place on the lawn of Bethel Church, where old friends reunited, former co-workers reconnected, and participants who had moved to different resources over the years had the chance to see one another again. It was also an opportunity to make new friends, with participants, staff, and families enjoying time together across the different services. It was a wonderful reminder of how meaningful community can be.

Everyone bonded over a delicious BBQ meal, hula hooping, inflatable bowling, music, and relaxing in the summer sunshine.

A special thank you to Grow Foundation for providing the delicious meal. This partnership came about through one of our staff members, Denny, whose friends and family volunteer with the organization. Grow Foundation is a Christian non-profit organization committed to nurturing the spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being of the community, and we're grateful for their partnership. Thank you, !

Carrie hopes that this is just the beginning, with more collaborative events in the works to continue fostering connection, belonging, and unity throughout Bethesda's Community Inclusion services. 💙
