Registration for the Euchre Tournament on Sunday, October 4, 2026 opens Friday, August 21.

Join fellow euchre enthusiasts for an afternoon of friendly competition, great company, and plenty of fun.

Entrance Fee: $15.00 per person

Whether you're a seasoned player or simply enjoy a good game of cards, this tournament is a great opportunity to test your skills, meet new people, and enjoy an exciting afternoon at the Centre. Participants will have the chance to compete for prizes and bragging rights, and there will also be a 50/50 draw, raffle prizes, and sandwiches and refreshments available for purchase throughout the day.

Spaces are limited, so be sure to register early to secure your spot!

Older adults needed for a Protein Survey Study: held Fridays at the Acton Hillsview Active Living 50+ Seniors Centre

Males 65+ and females 70+ are needed to participate in a Protein Survey Study held on Fridays at the Acton Hillsview Active Living 50+ Seniors Centre. You do not need to be a member and the study is especially looking for more males.

The study is organized by the University of Guelph and involves one 2-hour in-person appointment (does not usually take the full 2 hours) comprising a questionnaire and an interview about what you ate over one day, as well as a 30-minute follow-up to ask what you ate another day that could be done by phone.

Study appointments will be held at the Acton Hillsview Active Living 50+ Seniors Centre on Fridays (June 5, 12, 19, 26) at either 9am, 1130am or 2pm.

Participants will receive a $25 gift card (for Tim Hortons, President’s Choice, or Ultimate Dining) and a Recipe Resource for Older Adults book that showcases simple recipes for older adults using Ontario agri-foods ($40 value). This study is approved by the University of Guelph Research Ethics Board (REB #0134) and no names are connected with any data.
