Fire restrictions have now been lifted within the Coastal Fire Centre.

This includes:
• Category 1 – campfires
• Category 2 – larger open fires, including some yard/debris burning
• Category 3 – large-scale open burning

Even with restrictions lifted, please continue to use caution when having any open fire. Never leave a fire unattended and make sure it is completely extinguished before leaving the area.

For full details and current restrictions, please visit the BC Wildfire Service website at the link below.

A reminder that an off-road vehicle prohibition is currently in effect due to the extreme wildfire risk.

Please respect the restrictions and help prevent human-caused wildfires. With the current dry conditions, even a small spark can quickly start a fire.

Thank you for doing your part to keep our community and surrounding areas safe. ❤️

Given the scope and scale of wildfires currently burning in B.C., and to further protect public safety, recreational off-road vehicle use will be prohibited on Crown land in the Kamloops and Southeast Fire Centres, as well as parts of the Cariboo and Coastal Fire Centres. This prohibition is effective immediately, as of 12 p.m. (noon) on August 10, 2026.

SFD recently responded to a call involving a campfire being used to burn materials, as well as another report of fireworks being set off. We spoke with those involved and reminded them that these activities are prohibited and extremely unsafe during the current dry conditions.

Sts’ailes Fire Department currently has two firefighters, Ed and Hayden Carter, assisting with the wildfire response in Boston Bar. They have been there for approximately three and a half weeks, helping with structural protection.

We’re proud to have them representing SFD and appreciate their dedication and time away from home.

💗Stay safe, Ed and Hayden!
