According to the Municipal Elections Act
Candidates are expected to uphold the integrity of the voting process.
According to the Town of Ajax’s election procedures, they must ensure that voting is conducted in a manner that is transparent, fair, and free from undue influence.
As of the 2026 guidelines, the use of electronic devices like iPads in a way that could influence or coerce voters is not permitted.
Candidates can use devices to share information or for accessibility purposes, but they cannot physically bring their devices to voters with the intent of overseeing how someone votes or pressuring them to vote a certain way.
This could be seen as a form of undue influence, which is prohibited under the Municipal Elections Act.
Remember, it’s your vote, do not let any candidate force you to tell them how they voted.
Tampering with elections and voting is a criminal act and should be reported to the police.
