⚠️ RECYCLING BIN ABUSE MUST STOP ⚠️

The RM of Whitehead continues to deal with residents placing black garbage bags and household waste in recycling bins located at the Kemnay Hall.

These bins are provided as a service for recyclable materials only. When garbage is placed in them, it contaminates recyclables, increases costs, and places the future of the program at risk.
Let us be clear: if this abuse continues, recycling bins may be removed.

We do not want to see this service lost due to the actions of a few individuals, but ongoing misuse cannot continue.

Please ensure you are using the recycling bins properly and disposing of household garbage at The Alexander Transfer Station.

The future of this service depends on everyone doing their part.

The Alexander Transfer Station is located at 123083 Rd 56N, approximately 3kms east of the town of AlexanderAlexander Transfer Station Site Hours:Spring/Summer Hours (First Wednesday of April to the end of September) Wednesday 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.Saturdays 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.Fall/Winter Hours (October to M...

🚧 Upcoming Road Improvement Work in Alexander🚧

The road segments highlighted in purple on the map will be milled to remove the existing pavement as part of our ongoing efforts to address long-term maintenance concerns and improve the sustainability of our roads.

This work is being undertaken to address aging pavement issues and reduce future maintenance requirements on these road sections.

At this time, we are waiting for the contractor's schedule. Once we receive confirmation of the timing, we will provide residents with an update, including anticipated start dates and any traffic impacts.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to maintain safe and reliable roads throughout our community.

📍 Please refer to the attached map for the locations that are included in this project.

🚧 Please Respect Road Closed Signs 🚧

Our road closed signs are placed for the safety of everyone using our roads. When a road is closed, it is closed for a reason.

We ask all motorists to please use caution around barricades and road closure signs. Driving through, around, or over these signs not only creates a safety hazard but also results in damage that must be repaired or replaced at taxpayers' expense.

If a road closure sign is preventing access to your driveway or laneway, please contact the RM office to discuss the situation. We are happy to work with residents whenever possible.

Thank you for helping keep our roads safe and for respecting the signage that is put in place to protect the public.
