Almonte Celtfest Join us July 9-11, 2027 in Gemmill Park It is a time to share the historical Celtic traditions with today’s local performers.

Celtfest is an almost entirely free weekend of Ottawa Valley and Celtic entertainment, performed in the natural amphitheatre of Gemmill Park in the heart of Almonte. Celtfest also presents a select group of unique artisans and vendors of specialty goods with a Celtic flair. Mission
Our mission is to celebrate and promote the Celtic heritage of the Ottawa Valley through music and dance and to m

ake this accessible to all. We want to give up-and-coming performers an opportunity to display their talents in their home community. To do this, we feature a free event with a number of entertainers who have a Celtic quality, as well as a wide variety of vendors of Celtic goods. We also provide a tent for seniors and entertainment for children, along with great food and beverages for all. The history of Celtfest began in 1997. Motivated by a love of Celtic heritage, Brian and Dan O’Connell, along with Terry Currie, looked for a way to keep their musical traditions alive and pass on the legacy of the Celts to the wider community. Throughout generations, fiddling and stepdancing have had a strong presence in the Ottawa Valley. Celtic music has continued to thrive in kitchens, pubs, and churches, Brian O’Connell explains. “In the early to mid 90s, there was a revival of Celtic music, such as Riverdance. We felt with all the local talent in the area, we could put together an event that would promote local musical talent and a day to reflect on the Celtic heritage.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿The North Lanark Highland Games are happening this Saturday August 22! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Come out to celebrate the Scottish culture and heritage of the Ottawa Valley.

⭐️There will be 20 pipe bands, 100 dancers and champion heavyweight athletes making for a packed day at one of the valley’s best summer events.

📍It all goes down at the North Lanark Agricultural Society fairgrounds at 195 Water st in Almonte.

It has been one month since Celtfest 30 and we still cannot believe it! Thank you to everyone that came to Gemmill Park over the weekend, visited the Tartan Exhibit over its 12 week run at the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum, participated in one of the workshops around town, stopped in to see our 30th anniversary display at the Mississippi Mills Public Library Almonte Branch, and supported the festival throughout the year at fundraising and promo events!

WOW what an accomplishment! Join us in raising a glass to the Ottawa Gaels GAA teams that made us proud at the 2026 Gaelic Athletic Association World Games in Waterford, Ireland this past week!

Slainte to Coach Kerri and her roster of incredible players!

Congratulations to local athletes Marnie Killeen, Andrew Killeen, Hailey Ladouceur, and Maeve Kerwin, along with Ottawa Gaels coach Kerri Beeching (teacher at Naismith Memorial Public School), on their OUTSTANDING results today at the 2026 Gaelic Athletic Association World Games in Waterford, Ireland!

Competing alongside more than 2,000 athletes from 114 teams around the world, both Ottawa Gaels squads finished their tournaments on a high note today!

🏆 The women’s team clinched the Shield title in the women’s Division 3, a fantastic bronze‑level finish.

🏆 The men’s team captured the Cup in men’s Division 2, bringing home GOLD!

What an incredible, international achievement! Please help me congratulate Marnie, Andrew, Hailey, Maeve, and Coach Kerri 🇨🇦🇮🇪🏆
