π¨ VOLUNTEERS NEEDED β RECEPTION CENTRE EXERCISE π¨
What happens when residents have to leave their homes during an emergency? Where do they go, and what happens when they arrive?
The North East Interlake Emergency Measures Board (NEIEMB) is holding a Reception Centre Exercise and we need community members to participate as mock evacuees!
π
Tuesday, October 6, 2026
β° 6:00 p.m. β 8:30 p.m.
π Arborg Bifrost Community Centre
409 Recreation Centre, Arborg
The NEIEMB is a partnership between the Town of Arborg, Municipality of Bifrost-Riverton and RM of Fisher, working together to prepare our communities for emergencies.
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ What will volunteers do?
Volunteers will participate as evacuees in a simulated emergency and experience what would happen if a Reception Centre had to be opened for residents displaced by an emergency.
You may be asked to arrive at the Reception Centre with a mock situation or need and work your way through the reception process. Your participation will help the emergency team practise procedures and identify what works well β and what can be improved β before a real emergency happens.
β
All ages are welcome
β
Families are encouraged to participate
β
No previous experience is required
β
A great opportunity to learn how our communities respond during an emergency
This is a training exercise only β but the experience gained will help us be better prepared when a real emergency happens.
