✔️ Keeping roads clear of bins, trailers and other obstacles
✔️ Driving carefully around equipment and crews

The City of Armstrong is proud to support Make Water Work, a water conservation campaign led by the Okanagan Basin Water Board that helps residents create beautiful, resilient landscapes while using water wisely.

The Okanagan is on the front lines of climate change, experiencing both drought and flooding, along with increasingly severe wildfire seasons. Make Water Work encourages practical water-saving habits and drought-resilient landscaping that help protect our water supply for future generations.

Did you know?
💧 There is less water available per person in the Okanagan than anywhere else in Canada.
💧 The Okanagan has one of the highest rates of water use per person in Canada.
💧 Lawn and garden watering is the second-largest use of water in the Okanagan.

📍 Location: Smith Drive (between Smith Road and Fletcher Avenue)

During this time, access will be limited to local traffic and emergency vehicles only.

Planning an event, display, or activity on City property?

Using a City sidewalk, road, boulevard, or other public space requires a permit from the City.

Permits help ensure:

✅ Public safety
✅ Accessibility for all users
✅ Emergency vehicle access
✅ Protection of City infrastructure
✅ Appropriate insurance and liability coverage

Activities such as special events, community gatherings, sidewalk patios, temporary road closures, vendor events, and the placement of tents or other structures require approval from the City.

If you're planning to use public property, contact City Hall early in the planning process. Our goal is to help make your event or activity safe, successful, and enjoyable for everyone.

Downtown Parking is Available During Construction!

As work continues on Pleasant Valley Boulevard North, there are still several convenient public parking options available throughout downtown Armstrong.

Available parking locations include:

✔️ Wood Avenue City Public Parking Lot
✔️ Pleasant Valley Boulevard South City Public Parking Lot
✔️ On-street parking along Patterson Avenue
✔️ On-street parking along Pleasant Valley Road between Okanagan Street and Bridge Street
✔️ On-street parking along Okanagan Street from Wood Avenue to Patterson Avenue
✔️On-street parking along Pleasant Valley Boulevard North

We're also preparing the former City Hall parking lot for temporary public parking. More information will be shared once it's ready.

All downtown businesses remain open and appreciate your continued support during construction.

Stage 2 Water Restrictions Effective June 4, 2026 at 12 p.m.

Effective 12 p.m., June 4, 2026, the City of Armstrong has activated Stage 2 Water Conservation Restrictions in response to the Provincial Drought Rating for our region.

Stage 2 restrictions help reduce overall water demand and support the responsible management of community water resources during dry conditions.

📅 Watering Schedule
🔹 Addresses ending in 00–49: Tuesdays & Saturdays
🔹 Addresses ending in 50–99: Mondays & Wednesdays

⏰ Irrigation Times
• Manual irrigation: 6 p.m. – 10 a.m. on designated days
• Automated irrigation: 10 p.m. – 6 a.m. (maximum 3 hours) on designated days

🚿 Handheld watering with a shut-off nozzle is permitted at any time.

These restrictions apply to all City of Armstrong water customers, including residents in the Pleasant Valley, Round Prairie, Highland Park, Stardell, Silver Star, and Lansdowne Local Area Services, as well as Spallumcheen residents receiving City water.
